Casella CEL Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of IDEAL Industries, Inc. and is located in Buffalo, NY. All sales support, service and instrument recalibration for North America is based at the Buffalo facility, which is staffed by factory trained engineers. Cesare Tagliabue first established a company in London in 1799 to manufacture scientific apparatus during the reign of King George III. Not long after, Louis Pascal Casella joined him in partnership and the Casella company name was born. In the early years, products designed and built by Casella and exported worldwide included navigation/exploration and photographic devices, as well as meteorological and medical research instruments. Some early customers included Charles Darwin and Dr. Stanley Livingstone who relied on their durable and accurate Casella products to carry them safely as they embarked on discovering remote new regions, cultures and species.
In 2006 Casella Measurement was acquired by IDEAL Industries, Inc. of Sycamore, Illinois. A pioneer in the electrical wire connection industry, Ideal Industries has been family owned since its’ founding in 1916 – and today manufactures a wide range of quality products for the Electrical, Datacom, Wire Processing and OEM Connector markets. IDEAL also manufactures high quality hand tools with state of the art manufacturing facilities right here in the US including the famous SK Brand of high quality wrenches, screwdrivers, chisels and more. Casella Measurement UK and Casella CEL Inc. are wholly owned subsidiary companies of IDEAL Industries, Inc.
Casella CEL Inc. and its affiliates constantly strive to bring innovation and value to the market – recent examples of this include the dBadge™ series of ‘cable free’ Personal Noise Dosimeters which meet the requirements of regulatory agencies and industry professionals and practitioners worldwide. In order to constantly develop new and better solutions for the safety, industrial hygiene and environmental markets, the company has adopted a very customer focused process of continuous improvement to ensure the right products are brought to market and perform beyond expectations – a fundamental principle of the founder of IDEAL, J. Walter Becker, who believed that every product should be worth more than the price paid for it…a tradition the company is proud to uphold.
